You are your own Linux Marketing Board

I carry an Ubuntu disk with me at all times -- it is a case of "Don't leave home without it". Why? If I get a chance to talk to a person about Linux I want to make it as easy as possible for that person to try it out.
I have to admit that I have not had as many opportunities to hand out disks as I would like. I am thinking that what would be just as helpful in the promotion of Linux is a short handout to give to people. Something quick, short and inexpensive to produce.
Consider a page 5.5" X 4.25 '' (that is 8.5 X 11 divided by 4) printed on two sides with a quick promotion of Linux with a contact name or your LUG on it. What would you say on this promo piece?
If we combine our talents, we can produce Linux promotion material to distribute. And the best part is : we do not have to get permission from any head office to promote Linux. If every LUG set aside two days a year in which the members went out into the community and promoted Linux, we could start making headway. It could be in the form of an install fest, or just a day where you go out and distribute literature and engage people in pleasant conversation.
It will take the collective efforts of all of us here at this site to promote Linux. From this site we can help each other market Linux and Free software.
Software Freedom Day will fall on September 12 this year. Let's start our planning for it now http://softwarefreedomday.org
